Myoglobin (MB) is an iron- and oxygen-binding protein found in the muscle tissue of vertebrates in general and in almost all mammals. It is not related to hemoglobin, which is the iron- and oxygen-binding protein in blood, specifically in the red blood cells.

Both are oxygen binding protiens.

Myoglobin - monomeric protien, binds to one molecule of oxygen and carries it to the mucle during its active respiration.

Haemoglobin - tetrameric protien present in RBCs ,binds to four moldcules of oxygen and carries it throught the body for providing oxygen for various cellular metabolic processes.
