Answer:
Myopia is a eye problem in which one could see near objects but couldn't see distant object clearly . It is caused by elongation of eye ball or the excessive curvature of the cornea.
Myopia is also known as nearsightedness. In this case, the person can clearly see nearby objects but feels discomfort when looking at farther objects or reading things that are far away.
Myopia can be caused either if you have an eyeball that's too long or if the retina, the protective layer of the eye, is too curved. Due to this, the image might focus in front rather than directly on the retina, leading to blurred vision.
It is also known as refractive error by doctors. For the treatment, you can either get your eyes tested and use glasses or contacts that have negative numbers.
And there are several surgeries that can be done, like :
- Photorefractive keratectomy
- LASIK
- EVO Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL)
