Answer:

What causes myopia? Myopia, or short-sightedness, occurs when the eyeball is too long so it affects how the cornea and lens focus. This means objects in the distance appear blurry because light rays are focusing at the front of the retina rather than directly on its surface.

Myopia or Nearsightedness occurs when the eye loses its ability to focus on far-off objects as the lenses do not possess a long focal length.

CAUSES-

The light entering the eye isn't focused correctly, and distant objects look blurred.

Myopia is caused by the shape of the eye; either the eyeball is slightly too long or the cornea (the clear covering of the front of the eye) is too steeply curved.

Mostly the young folks suffer from myopia that occurs due to elongation of the eyeball or bulging of the cornea. When the normal curvature of the cornea bulges, the light rays are refracted in such a manner that the image is formed in front of the cornea.
