Answer:Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is an eye condition that causes blurry distance vision. ... For normal vision, light passes through the clear cornea at the front of the eye and is focused by the lens onto the surface of the retina, which is the lining of the back of the eye that contains light-sensing cells.

Answer:

myopia is also known as near sightedness

Explanation:

  • myopic person cannot see distant objects clearly because the far point of his/her eye is less than infinity.
  • myopia is the defect of the eye due to which the eye is not able to see the distanct object clearly.
  • myopia is due to :

a. elongation of the eye ball i.e, the distance between retina and eye lens is increased .

b. decrease in the focal length of the eye lens object is formed infront of the retina and not at the retina itself this defect can be corrected by using a concave lens of suitable power.

c. concave lens of suitable power will bring the image back on to the retina and thus the defect is corrected.

i think this may help you
