The defect of eye in which nearby objects are seen clearly by the eye but far objects are not seen clearly called myopia.

Causes
1. The curvature of the surface of eye lens to be increased due to its focal length decrease
2. The distance between eye lens nd retina to be increased

Elongation of eyeball , this causes log rays to focus on the point in front of retina , rather than directly on its surface.

This can be corrected by using concave lenses of suitable focal length.✅
