๏National Parties:

National parties are those parties which have influence all over the nation.In simple words they govern all over the nation.National parties having a permanent symbol which can't be change.

example:BJP(Bharatiya Janata party) & INC (indian national congress) are such examples of national parties.

๏Regional parties:-

Regional parties are those parties which govern in the state only or they beyond upto the state.If regional party govern more than 2 state they can also become a national party.

example: Akali dal,shiv sena ,AIDMK etc are all regional parties.

• A registered party is recognised as a National Party only if it fulfils any one of the following three conditions: The party wins 2 per cent of the seats in the Lok Sabha (as of 2014, 11 seats) from at least 3 different States; or. ... A party gets recognition as State Party in four or more States.

• A "regional party" is any political party with its base in a single region, whatever its objectives and platform may be, whereas "regionalist" parties are a subset of regional parties that specifically campaign for greater autonomy or independence in their region.
