Like a man needs help from other men/people to live a good life (a man needs doctor, mechanic, plumber, electrician, teacher, chef, driver, domestic help etc). A man no matter how capable he or she is, can't be expected to know all skills and use these skills on a daily basis for whole life.
Extend this concept to a nation and hence, the need for globalization. Singapore imports drinking water from Malaysia and hence, it needs to have good relations with Malaysia and also trade with Malaysia. Singapore needs to import drinking water because it has zero natural resources to survive upon.
Every country needs one or another commodity or skills or capital or technology or tools from another country. Every country can't be best in everything on earth.
This is the fundamental reason why globalization is mandatory. Every country can optimize its potential to maximize benefits to its citizens by depending on other nations peacefully.
