Negative binomial distribution, also known as Pascal distribution is referred to as the number of success events before any failed event occurs in a sequence of identically distributed and independent Bernoulli trials.
For example, in a particular event of throwing a dice, if the appearance of 1 is considered to be a failure and all other numbers represent success, and the dice is thrown repeatedly then probability distribution of all the other numbers that appeared will represent a negative binomial distribution.
