Nephron is the structural and functional unit of kidney. Its chief function is to regulate the concentration of water and soluble substances like sodium salts by filtering the blood, reabsorbing what is needed and excreting the rest asurine.

The blood is filtered in kidneys by clusters of thin walled blood capillaries called nephrons.
Nephrons are associated with the cup shaped end of a tube which collects the urine and in the tubular part of nephron, the nutrients from the blood are selectively reabsorbed such as urea, glucose, amino acids, etc as it flows down the tube.
Nephrons are the functional units of kidneys and filter the blood in the kidneys.
