An alkaline solution of potassium mercuric iodide used in chemical analysis especially in the test of ammonium of aqueous solution.50g of KI in 50ml of cold water .Add a saturated solution of mercuric chloride about 200 g in 350ml of water.Then add 200ml of NaOH and dilute in 1L.
