what is nessler's reagent ? how is can be prepared?

Anhydrous ammonia used in the experiment is prepared by ion exchange method. Preparation of the reagent is based on the requirements of reference [2].Of which Nessler's reagent is made of mercuric chloride -potassium iodide - potassium hydroxide (HgCl2-KI-KOH)
