➡Neurons (also called neurones or nerve cells) are the fundamental units of the brain and nervous system

➡nerve cells are found in the nervous tissue all over the body

➡neurons are of three types and they have different functions and they are :-

1) Sensory neurons :- The Sensory neurons transmit impulse from the sense organs towards the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord)

2) Motor neurons :- They transmit impulse from the central nervous system towards the effectors i.e., muscles and glands

3) Connector neurons , Relay neurons or Interneurons :- They occur in the central nervous system and serve as link between sensory and motor neurons
