What is neutralisation reaction? Give example

When acids react with bases the products formed are water and the respective salts. This reaction is called neutralization reaction. Eg-HCl + NaOH. -> NaCl+H2O

  • The reaction in which a base reacts with an acid is called  neutralisation reaction.

  • EXAMPLES :

I) NaOH (aq) + HCL (aq)       ----------------->     NaCL (aq) + H₂O (l) .

ii) H₂SO₄( aq )  + 2NH₄OH( aq )   -------------------->    ( NH₄)₂SO₄(aq) + 2H₂O .
