Answer:

Moon light is due to the reflection of sunlight

New moon is a phenomenon which happens once in every 28 days in a  month. Every day the moon rotates around the earth, hence we see different phases of moon on each day.

For the moon to complete one round, it takes 28 days. So to complete half round it takes 14 days approximately.

So once it covers 14 days, moon comes in between the earth and the sun. If this happens, then no sunlight will fall on moon. So we dont see moon during this time and hence we call it as new moon.

When the moon is on the other side of Earth, we see sunlight falling on the moon and hence we see a full bright moon. This is called Full moon.
