Properties of elements were arranged in the atomic masses in the Newland law of octaves
He discovered in the year 1866
METHOD
He arranged every element in increasing atomic masses from hydrogen to thorium
He found that every 8 element has similar properties to the first element
Compared with octaves in music
Drawbacks
*He could only figure out up to calcium
*Only 56 elements were existed in that period so no fitness of New discovered element
*Cobalt and Nickel were placed under chlorine and fluorine which is different properties and iron which was similar to Cobalt and Nickel where place far away
