Newmann's projection formula represent the spatial arrangement of atom or group of two adjacent carbon.
Here the Carbon atom are viewed along the axis of Carbon-Carbon bond. The Carbon atom towards front represent towards observer and rear Carbon atom represent away from observer.
The front carbon is represented by • and the rear by a ○.
Staggered Conformation -
A confirmation with 60° dihedral angle are known as staggered conformation.
Eclipsed Conformation -
A confirmation with 0° dihedral angle are known as eclipsed conformation.
