It stated that Rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to external unbalanced force applied on the body

OR

the the rate of change of momentum of an object is proportional to the implied unbalanced force in the direction of the force

THEREFORE

F=ma

where F=force

M= mass

A=acceleration

(How this formula derived is given in the picture)

Newton's second law is "rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to force applied".

  • The mathematical expression of Newton's second law is F = m*a. In the formula, F is force, m is mass and a is acceleration.
  • As per this formula, the mass of the object is inversely proportional to the acceleration of the object. Also, the force applied is directly proportional to the acceleration of the object.
  • This law is applicable when an object has an unbalanced force applied to it.
