What is nitrogen and oxygen

Nitrogen (N) and oxygen (O) are the elements of 2nd period they are non-metallic in nature they exist as N2 and O2 in nature.
N is a member of nitrogen family i.e. group 15
O is member of oxygen family i.e. group 16
electronic configuration of nitrogen is 1s² 2s² 2p^4
and that of oxygen is 1s² 2s² 2p^5
Oxygen is paramagentic in nature.

Nitrogen and Oxygen are the two gases or we can say as element. Nitrogen has a atomic number 7 and Oxygen has 6. Nitrogen has electronic configuration 2,5 and Oxygen has 2,4. Nitrogen has 3 valency and Oxygen has 4 valency.............
