Nitrogen is considered as an essential element in the growth and development of a plant. It's mainly responsible for the activation of Auxins. Auxin is an essential plant growth regulator. In layman's term, Nitrogen provides the nutrition to the plant for the development of the green foliage (leaves,branches etc) of a plants.
