It is a motion moved by opposition party against a ruling party showing lack of confidence against the minister of the party or the whole ministry including the prime Minister.

No confidence motion can only be introduced in Lok Sabha.

If no confidence motion passes in Lok Sabha then the whole ministry has to resign and Lok Sabha elections are held again.

Eg once in atal bihari vajpayee government has to resign due to no confidence motion by a shortage of only one vote and re- elections were ordered
