Starting in January 1921, the Non-Cooperation movement unfolded in the following ways:
• Large scale participation by all class people
• Boycott of government controlled organizations
• People started refusing to participate in council elections
• Drastic reduction in importing of foreign clothes
• Rejection of imported dress materials
As a result, Indian textile mills emerged out of the shadows and saw an upward rise.
