When the mature seed does not have an Endosperm, it is known as Non-endospermic seed.

In the case of Non-endospermic seeds, the cotyledons are the only food storage organ and they are quite fleshy and thick. During development of embryo, the cotyledons absorb food from the endosperm and it is completely used up.
