Nouns are the naming words in English grammer. Nouns means when we talk about any place, person or thing.

There are 5 kinds of nouns in English those are :-

  1. Common noun
  2. Proper noun
  3. Abstract noun
  4. Collective noun
  5. Possessive noun

1. Common noun:-

Common nouns basically tells us about a place, person or a thing which is common. Just remember they never tells us about specific person, place or thing. For eg: doll, cat, minister, judge,etc.

2. Abstract noun :-

Abstract noun are the words which express a feeling here, they basically depict our emotions. For eg: anger, crying,etc

3. Collective noun :-

Collective nouns means those words which are in group and give it a specific name for that group. For eg: batch of students, regiment of soldiers, school of fish.

4. Proper noun :-

Proper noun basically tells us about place, person or a thing. In this noun we tells about a specific person place or a thing. For eg: Albert Einstein, Queen Elizabeth, America, France,etc.

5. Possessive noun :-

possessive nouns are also known as "ownership nouns". In this we use apaustrauphy s ('s) and show the ownership of other person. For eg; Beth's sunglasses, mother's dress, etc. We sometime show our ownership by inserting mine.
