NPK stands for Nitrogen {N},phosphorus {p},potassium {K}.

They are known as macro nutrients. because they are in large quantities.

In NPK fertiliser the percentage of the nutrients as follows:

Nitrogen {N}:15%.

Phosphorus {P}:15%.

Potassium {K}:15%.

nitrogen helps for new leaves and flowers arise fast.

phosphorus penetrates the roots into the deep into the soil quickly.

potassium helps for resistance towards pests, increases the quality of smell ,colour and taste of fruits.
