Adolescents and NPP :

1. Adolescents are defined as the portion of population lying in the age group of 10 to 19 years.

5. Adolescents have been identified as one of the under served population groups.

NPP 2000 or National Population Policy 2000 is an act or policy initiated by the Government. It provides a policy framework of achieving goals and prioritizing strategies during the next decade to meet the reproductive and child health needs of the people of India along with the target to achieve the net replacement levels (Total Fertility Rate). It aims to create a stable population in the country.

Adolescents is that age group of male and females when there body's gonads secretes hormones which creates or develops various secondary sexual characteristics, like, deepening of voice etc.
