NREGA scheme is a scheme whose abbreviation is National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. This act was passed in the year 2005. This had been carried out by government of India in 600 backward districts in our country.

The main features of this act are as follows :

1. If a person has no work in one of the backward rural areas then that person is registered under this act and is given guaranteed work for a period of 3 months .

This scheme is helpful in developing employment for farmers during their growing period.
