Reaction between acids and bases is called neutralization . In this reaction , both the substances cancel the effect of each other . Salt and water is produced along with heat .

If acid is stronger than base , so the salt formed is acidic . If base is stronger than acid , salt formed is basic and if both the substances have equal power , salt formed is called neutral
