a null vector is a vector having magnitude equal to zero. a null vector has no direction or it may have any direction. generally a null vector is either equal to resultant of two equal vectors acting in opposite directions on multiple vectors in different directions.

EXAMPLES:-
1. two people pulling a rope in opposite directions with equal force.
2. displacement of throwing an object upward and then again holding it at the same position.
3. the velocity of train standing still on a platform.
4. acceleration of a car going at a uniform speed.

Null vector is a vector whose magnitude is zero.

Explanation:

Null vector is a vector whose magnitude is zero and it has arbitrary direction. Sum or cross product of two vectors are vectors thus, null vectors arises in such operations.

It is denoted by \vec {0}

Exa.

i. \vec {a}\times \vec{a} = 0

ii. \vec{a} + \vec {0} = \vec{a}

iii. \vec{a} \times \vec{0} = \vec{0}
