average velocity=total displacement /total time taken

average speed=total distance/total time taken

since object is moving in a straight line therefore

distance=displacement

time is same for both the cases

therefore

avg speed=avg velocity

avg speed/avg velocity=1/1

therefore they are in the ratio of 1:1
