when acid and base react with each other and formation of salt and water is there it is called neutralization process

here is a basic example for you

Neutralisation reaction : The process due to which [H+] ions of an acid react completely or combine with [OH-] of a base to give salt and water. For example: A reaction between sodium hydroxide and Hydrochloric acid.
