Nylon is a synthetic polyamide fibre . in this respect nylon resembles silk and wool silk and wool a natural polyamide fibres.

important properties of Nylon are as follow;

  • nylon fibres are very strong
  • nylon fibres are elastic
  • nylon can be drawn into very thin fibres
  • nylon does not absorb water
  • nylon is wrinkle assistant
  • nylon is abrasion resistant
  • nylon is not attacked by fungus ,moth,etc
  • nylon is soluble in all common solvent .

nylon is used for manufacturing of tyre cord fabrics, making fishing nets , parachute ropes for fabricating sheets ,brittles for brushes for making sarees, socks, elastic hosieries and for making machine parts also .
