Dilute Hydrochloric Acid + Sodium carbonate→ Sodium chloride +Carbon Di Oxide + Water

Therefore, in the equation form -

2HCL(dil) + Na₂Co₃ → 2NaCl + Co₂ + H₂O

Since any metal carbonate reacts with any of the acid, it produces salt, water and even carbon di-oxide. Thus, the above resulting reaction further produce Sodium chloride water carbon di-oxide .

So as per reaction, The characteristics are -

1 A Normal Salt of Sodium & Chlorine is produced. 

2 During the reaction the gas carbon di-oxide is evolved with a brisk effervescence, and when the moist blue litmus is brought near to it, The litmus turns faint red .

3 During the reaction, a stable liquid that does not have any affect on the litmus paper ie water is also produced.
