It is a double displacement or also called precipitation reaction.> the reaction is as follows
Pb(NO3)2 + 2KI ---> PbI2 + 2KNO3    (aq)           (aq)       (s)         (aq)
> the precipitate is lead iodide ( PbI2 ) and turns yellow in colour .> the compound involved in this reaction is lead nitrate .
