Usually refraction takes place and large words are observed

can it be because of lateral displacement of light
when the light entered the glass slab an angle of incidence is formed acc. to the angle of the light passed through it when light travels from rearer medium to denser medium the ray of light bends towards the normal and if the ray of light travels from denser to rearer medium the ray of light bends away from the normal
