Explanation:

In order to achieve stability , all the elements try to attain eight electrons in their outermost shell. This is called the octet rule

Because Noble gases which contain eight electrons in the outermost shell are stable and don't normally react with any other elements (usually not all the times).

Answer:

octet rule states that each atom tries to attain eight electrons in its valence shell by losing gaining or sharing electron

Explanation:

the octet configuration of the valence shell is considered stable electronic configuration and each atom tries to attain it

after losing or gaining electron the atom is converted into its ionic form

the ions of different elements combine to form compounds

these compound are called ionic compounds

if atom share electrons they form covalent compounds

but noble gasses already have octet configuration so they do not form bonds

or rarely form bonds they are also known as inert gasses
