in 1927 a German physicist " jeorge simon ohm " found out the relationship between the current flowing through a metallic wire and the potential difference across its terminals. according to him at constant temperatures , the current flowing through the given metallic wire is directly proportional to the potential difference across its terminals .

in short we can say that the ohm's law states that current is directly proportional to potential difference .
