Oligarchy (from Greek ὀλιγαρχία (oligarkhía); from ὀλίγος (olígos), meaning "few", and ἄρχω (arkho), meaning "to rule or to command") is a form of power structure in which power effectively rests with a small number of people.

Oligarchy is a political term which refers to the control of power in a state or country in the hands of few, mostly influential people. Like wise with regard to the business, Oligarchic management refers to the control of management of a business or company in the hands of few.

In Oligarchic management, the decision making authorities are few who can misuse their power and their decisions may harm the interest of other stakeholders of company.
