Opium is a kind of drug . It is a reddish brown heavy scented addictive drug . It is prepared from the juice of the opium poppy which is use as medicine as an analgesic .

In China opium was use for medicinal purposes but after 17th century it was mixed with tobacco for smoking and it created a far greater demand .
