◆ Orbital velocity-
It's the velocity given to the satellite to revolve around earth's orbit.
◆ Expression-
Consider a satellite with mass m revolving around earth at height h with orbital velocity v.
Here, gravitational force provides centripetal force.
GMm/r^2 = mv^2/r
v^2 = GM/r
v = √(GM/r)
But, r = R+h,
v = √[GM/(R+h)]
v = √[g(R+h)]
