Order of reaction:- In a rate low expression it is the addition of powers of the reactants concentration.
For the reaction:-
aA + bB ----> Product
Here:-
Rate law will be k [A]^x [B]^y
where,
- x will be the reaction with respect to A.
- y will be the reaction with respect to B.
- x + y = n which is to be overall order of the reaction.
Important Information:-
- Possibility of order of the reaction is all it is possible to be -ve, +ve or even it may be 0.
- It is actually a experimental quantity.
