Answer:

Organ donation is the process when a person allows an organ of their own to be removed and transplanted to another person, legally, either by consent while the donor is alive or dead with the assent of the next of kin

Organ donation is basically taking an organ from a healthy person and replacing it with an unhealthy one.

Now, organ donation is not that simple as it seems, the new organ transplanted needs to be compatible with the host individual else it will get rejected. As such, doctors check for blood matching and many other factors to cancel the chance of organ rejection by the immune system of the body.

Also, the organ that is transplanted determines the success rate and the procedure. For example, transplanting kidney can be done easily from a live human as one kidney is enough for survival. But cornea transplantation is done only after the death of an individual and that too within a short time of demise. So, in short organ transplantation is a complex process and it's complexity depends on the organ.
