In hindi -आर्द्रतायुक्त वायु के मार्ग में पड़ने वाले पर्वतों के कारण उत्पन्न होने वाली वर्षा। यह वायु पर्वतों की रुकावट के कारण ऊपर उठती है और ठंडी होकर (यदि उसमें जलवाष्प यथेष्ठ मात्रा में उपलब्ध है) उच्च स्थलों में वर्षा करती है। इसको उच्चावच-वर्षा (relief rainfall) की संज्ञा भी दी जाती है।
