Osmosis is the diffusion of water molecules across a semi-permeable membrane from a more dilute solution (with a lower solute concentration)to a less dilute solution(with a higher soulte concentration).

Plasmolysis is the phenomenon of the contraction of cytoplasm from the cell wall caused due to withdrawal of water when placed in a strong(hypertonic) solution.

hope it helps you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plasmolysis is when plant cells lose water after being placed in a solution that has a higher concentration of solutes than the cell does. This is known as a hypertonic solution. Water flows out of the cells and into the surrounding fluid due to osmosis
