Take potatoes in two beakers with water. Add salt to one of the beaker. Cut the both the potatoes a bit from both sides of the surfaces to let water in.

After 4-5hrs

We observe change in the size of the potato with salt water. Water moves inside the potato from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.

Hence we can prove that movement of water molecules from higher region to lower region is known as osmosis.
