A national emblem is an official emblem or deal reserved for use by maroon state as a symbol of nation
The is used as an official government sea. It is printed on all currency notes, coins, stamps and all the government documents. It is an adaptation om the lion capital of Ashoka at Sarnath. The emblem is in two parts: the crest and the base. The crest shows three lions standing back to back on a flat slab while the fourth one is hidden from the view. The base shows a horse on the left side and a bull on the right side. There is a wheel or Chakra between the horse and the bull. The lions signify power and majesty, the horse signifies speed and 'energy and the bull signifies hard work. The Chakra is the symbol of Dharma. The national emblem inspires us to inculcate all these qualities in our character and conduct.
Below the crest the words' Satyameva Jayate' are inscribed in Devanagari are script. These words taken from the Mundaka Upanishad means "Truth Alone Triumphs".
