There are 4 components of a computer:

1) Input Device

2) Central Processing Unit (CPU)

3) Output Devices

4) Primary/Secondary Memory

Given question: What is an output device?

Answer: OUTPUT DEVICE-

1. An output device is a basic component of a computer.

2. It displays result on a screen.

3. It can help in printing that result for future reference and use.

There are many output devices. Here is a list of few of them:

1) Monitor/VDU- It is one of the most commonly used output devices used to display data.

2) Speakers- They help in listening output data.

3) Plotter- It helps in printing graphics.

4) Printers- They help in printing the result.

There are 3 types of printers:

⇒ Dot Matrix

⇒ Inkjet

⇒ Laser

Answer:

An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment which converts information into human-readable form. It can be text, graphics, tactile, audio, and video.

Some of the output devices are Visual Display Units (VDU) i.e. a Monitor, Printer, Graphic Output devices, Plotters, Speakers etc. A new type of Output device is been developed these days, known as Speech synthesizer,a mechanism attached to the computer which produces verbal output sounding almost like human speeches.
