Oxidation is a chemical reaction that involves the moving of oxygen. Oxidation occurs when a reactant loses electrons during the reaction. On other hand reduction occurs when a reactant gains electrons during the reaction.

Hey....
The addition of oxygen and removal of hydrogen from a substance in a reaction is called oxidisation reaction...
eg..Cuo +H2------->H2O +Cu...
Here ,in produc side HE get oxidised , additional of oxygen in product side and form H2O......
