\huge \underline \bold \red{oxidation - }The type of reaction in which oxygen evolve and hydrogen reduces is called oxidation reaction.

✴️Oxidation is any chemical reaction that involves the moving of electrons.

✒️Those oxidation reaction in which reactant are highly reactive give exothermic reaction.

✴️Exothermic: combustion of hydrocarbons, thermite rxn, burning a reactive metal for example sodium in air.

✴️Nitrogen is very less reactive so its oxidation become endothermic.

✒️The reaction between calcium oxide (CaO) and water (H2O) to form calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 is an exothermic combination reaction. It is a redox reaction

✴️ For example, since Ca(OH)2 is an alkali, CaO should also be an alkali, because CaO dissolves in water, forming Ca(OH)2.

ashimprem82: I know the reaction between calcium oxide and Water is Exothermic combination reaction but I asked ," is it Oxidation reaction or not ?
