When sulphur reacts with oxygen it produces sulphur dioxide (SO2). This is an acidic gas. These days sulphur dioxide is polluting the air. It is produced in the thermal power plants, vehicles etc. When it reacts with water droplets present in the air it forms Sulphurous acid which then fall down in the form of acid rain. And acid rain is very dangerous for vegetation, crops, monuments , bridges etc. it also causes Allergies
