✔️oxidising agents are :-the substances that can add oxygen to others are calle oxidising agents.

➖➖➖➖➖OR➖➖➖➖➖

✔️Oxidation is defined as :

1) Addition of oxidation

2) Removal of hydrogen

✔️✔️Thus we can say that oxidizing agents , themselves get reduced.

✔️So, oxidizing agent oxidizes other substance and get reduced.

⏹Examples:-
Cl2, KMnO4, HNO3 etc

⏹ Equation examples :-

in the equation
H2S +  Cl2 ----> 2HCl + S

✔️Here, H2S gets oxidized to S while Cl2 gets reduced to HCl .

✔️ Cl2 is the oxidizing agent which gets reduced to HCl.
